Haleem “Stringz” Rasul is a dance performance artist, educator, and founder of Hardcore Detroit—a brand and movement rooted in the belief that “hardcore” means success after struggle and overcoming obstacles to achieve victory.
His journey blends Detroit street wisdom, hip-hop roots, and global experience—from preserving the legacy of Jit through film and education to teaching internationally and mentoring the next generation. A multi-grant awardee, official U.S. cultural ambassador, and former dance educator at Wayne State University, Haleem continues to push boundaries through storytelling, movement, and purpose. His mission: to build something positive within Detroit, honor the past, empower the future, and move the world—one step at a time.
